Trofie Festival in Sori: taste, tradition and music on the beach

On Saturday, June 28, the 38th Trofie Festival will be held in Sori, in the province of Genoa, with a handmade pasta workshop, food stands and music on the beach

A day of celebration, music and fun, thanks to the traditional event organized by the Pro Loco of Sori in collaboration with the historic Novella Pasta Factory.

Starting at 5 p.m., the pedestrian area of Sori will be transformed into a real handmade trofie workshop. Here it will be possible to try your hand at making pasta, complete with wooden mats and aprons. Skilled pasta makers will be on hand to support those who want to learn this valuable art.

The food stands will open at 7 p.m., with a menu strictly of trofie with pesto and cheese flatbreads. There will also be music and entertainment to color the evening.

Finally at 9 p.m. the party will reach its climax with music on the beach by Gli Anni d’Oro: an overwhelming mix of Vasco, Ligabue and 883’s hits.

The first trofie festival was born in 1980 in San Bartolomeo, inland from Sori, and then moved to the center of the municipality and to the sea, assuming increasing importance and size.

The trofiata today is a key event dedicated to promoting the area: in fact, trofie, pesto and focaccette are offered by Pastificio Novella to raise funds for the activities that the Pro Loco of Sori programs throughout the year.
