Parà was featured at the 32nd Proposte fair, held in the beautiful setting of Villa Erba in Cernobbio, May 6-8. The company displayed its wide range of fabrics for in & outdoor furniture. “This is an important collection,” says Marco Parravicini, ceo of Parà, “ranging from natural fiber fabrics to dyed acrylic fabrics, through outdoor prints on PET and GRS-certified recycled PET backgrounds.
“Like every year, there has been great anticipation regarding the leitmotif of the new collection,” Parravicini continues. “This year we wanted to give voice and tell the stories of pioneering women in the worlds of art and science, universes that have always been considered misogynistic. Women we are only now rediscovering, thanks to retrospectives, iconic images of certain works, films and books. From their sensibilities we have been inspired to color our textile world.”
For this new collection, Pará admired the naturalistic works that Marianne North made during her travels. “The textile world of Marianne North,” says Davide Colombo, Sales Director of Pará, “is composed of naturalistic landscapes, jungles, botanical elements, and full-bodied colors.
“We then traveled imaginatively among the stars with Amalia Ercoli Finzi,” Colombo adds. “In our imagination, the textile world akin to this great aerospace engineer is about delicate watercolors, essential forms that are never rigorous, aesthetic cleanliness and watery colors. Finally, we immersed ourselves in the eclectic and visionary works of Sheila Hicks, for us associated with ethnic, full-bodied fabrics, tribal shapes and ikat prints, earthy and textural colors.”
