The second edition of Over Borders Half Marathon will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025: the half marathon connecting Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia is organized by ASD Running Team Conegliano with the approval of the FIDAL Regional Committee.
From Bibione to Lignano Sabbiadoro, the competition will take place on a FIDAL Class A-certified course about 21 kilometers long, with the waterfront of the two seaside towns as its main protagonist. A fascinating journey between beach, sea and sky, completely closed to vehicular traffic for the occasion.
The starting whistle will sound at 6 p.m. in Piazza Fontana in Bibione (VE), while the finish line will be crossed at the Beach Arena in Lignano Sabbiadoro (UD). Participants are allowed a maximum time limit of 3 hours to reach the destination. The race will be held in all weather conditions.
According to the provisions of the “rules for the organization of events” issued by the FIDAL, athletes over 18 years of age who are registered in Italy and meet one of the following requirements may participate in the race: membership for 2025 to clubs affiliated with FIDAL; possession of Runcard (valid as sports insurance and permission to compete) and membership to a Sports Promotion Body (Athletics Section) in possession of Runcard-EPS, limited to persons over 20 years of age in possession of a valid medical certificate of specific agonistic fitness for athletics, which must be compulsorily delivered to the organizing clubs.
Italian and foreign athletes not registered in Italy who hold club memberships affiliated with Foreign Athletics Federations officially recognized by World Athletics will also be admitted.
For those interested, the organization of the Over Borders Half Marathon is already collecting registrations, while the fantastic establishments of the coast are ready to accommodate less athletic companions who can enjoy an aperitif on the beach.
